I am so excited to be participating in my VERY FIRST Monday Made It! Every week, I’ve looked at everyone else’s craftiness and been like “I wanna do it…” This week- I actually did! OK, I tried posting this yesterday, but my internet was giving me fits!
I have a secret. (I’ve never had a unifying class theme.) Don’t tell.
I have always used the colors red, blue, yellow and green for everything but I wanted something to tie it all together. I had been toying around with a superhero or detective theme, but just didn’t feel settled about it. When I saw the zebra print ribbon in all the different colors- I knew it was destiny! I LOVE all things animal print and they fit the color scheme I already had. I decided to go with the theme “Let’s get wild about learning!” and instantly felt at piece. I found the ribbon at Hobby Lobby and the baskets were on clearance at Kmart!
Until now, my book nook has been housed in a painfully eclectic group of randomness. There was no color scheme. No standard basket size. Labels were any way I could get them on… it was madness. I had to fix it. I took the ribbon and weaved it in and out of the top row of each baskets. I played around with a lot of options, but in the end went with behind one, in front of two weave. I used glue dots to hold the ribbon on to the basket, but I don’t think it’s going to hold. I might have to break out the hot glue gun when I get to school.
This is what my 6 year old thought the baskets should be for.
