Today, I’m linking up with The Teaching Tribune for Throwback Thursday!
My throwback Thursday is one of my first ever Made It Monday link ups. I was blown away by how well it did. I even found it on Pinterest (and I didn’t put it there!)
Last summer, I wasn’t sure what I would do with it. I ended up using it to carry name tags. In reflection, I wished I had cut a handle into the top.
Now that I finally have a theme, I have this unending desire to cover everything in animal print of some kind. A picture of turning a shoe box into an organizer had crossed my pinterest feed several times, but it was just a picture- it didn’t link to any directions. “No big deal!” I thought. “I can do this!” I said…
I started with a shoe box, leopard print ducktape and scissors.
I folded the lid in half so I could measure where the half point of the shoe box was. I cut down the middle of each side of the shoe box and bent it in half.
Then I took the lid and cut it in fourths.
I attached one of the fourths to each end to create boxes.
(Sorry, I didn’t get a good picture of that!)
Then, I cut from the middle wall down to the front wall on all sides.
Then I used the duct tape to cover the WHOLE thing!
This morning, I decided I didn’t like it. It needed something else to make it pop. I got some red paper and modge podged it into the inside.
Then I lined what was left with the leopard print tape and trimmed the tops.
I LOVE the combination of leopard print and red… and I love this. However… I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to do with it…
And I need some serious Modge Podge help. How do you get it smooth?
